CBS News digital's year-end special, "2017 Unsubscribe," produced and edited by Christina, will premiere on CBSN at 9pm ET. The piece takes a look back at the year that brought us everything from the highs of "Wonder Woman" and the solar eclipse to the lows of Charlottesville and the Vegas shooting. Through all the ups and downs, one thing remained consistent. The stream of news events this year felt utterly relentless, interrupting our personal lives with news of political oustings, celebrity deaths and tragic massacres, almost on a daily basis. It was as epic as it was overwhelming, and it left people wishing they could simply unsubscribe from it all.

Christina's documentary, "Portland: Race Against the Past," will premiere on CBSN at 8pm ET. The piece explores the roots of racism in America by looking at Portland, Oregon as a microcosm of the larger problem. When most people think of Portland, they think of "Portlandia," a liberal -- sometimes comically hipster -- haven in the Pacific Northwest. What most people don't realize, however, is that the roots of racism and white supremacy in Portland run deep. When Oregon became a state in 1859, it made slavery illegal, but it also made it illegal for black people to reside in the state at all. And the effects of that law have ensured that Portland remains the whitest major city in America even to this day. With that in mind, the recent train attack is far from an isolated incident. It's a symptom of a much larger problem lurking beneath the surface.

Christina's documentary, "Thicker Than Water," will premiere on CBSN at 9pm ET. The piece takes an intimate look at the small towns often overlooked in the aftermath of natural disasters, like Hurricane Harvey, when most national coverage focuses on the major cities hit hardest. In fact, much like everyone else, Christina and her crew flew into New Orleans in late August with the intention of driving toward the catastrophic flooding in Houston. On the way there, however, Mother Nature intervened, leaving them stranded in the small farming community of Winnie, Texas. Now, they couldn't be happier that it did, forcing them to take a hard look at the people whose stories often go untold.
